there’s another one with a pe bender on the base also and it’s only 45$ same quality wise
"limited" but a whole unsold stack of them at Anime Expo 2024 😅
What tape do you use, because adhesives tend not to stick to parchment paper
Thank you as I never even knew what they're called. I just keep getting them with my toys and I've tried to apply them, like a normal decal, and they always ripped. Thanks to you, I now know the proper way to apply these decals. I usually always use waterside though but, at least I now know how to apply these.
Thanks for the video. Is it safe to store the paint in those plastic bottles? Does the thinner not dry out when with the paint over time or anything?
Again, Bandai having too many lines having diff names , same size or close enough…. Why?!?!?! UN vs g frame…. What’s the difference between
Bro got a BAAAACKLOG but has two displays w two built oooffffff thought I was cray
THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE LAST VIDEO I SAW! I was hoping I'd not have to rub it so hard, I'm liable to destroy shit lol I am a gorilla XD
🎉 great content 3 years later, followed. Saved me some money thank you.
Tutorial starts at 5:30
miss both of you ❤
Wow, thank you! I just got my first MG that came with Dry Transfer. This is so very informative I am likely to watch it again once I get to that part of the build.
This is exactly what I've been looking for thanks a bunch
Fast forward three years later.. What would you recommend nowadays? After 15 or so years of unintentional hiatus from any model building, I'm building up my toolbox again and searching for some decent files to add
Very helpful ☺️
missing so many pieces from my kit cant even build it
What primer would you recommend with this line. Thank you!
It's a beautiful tool, maybe pricey but if it helps to bring up the quality of your hobby it's worth every penny.
video starts at 04:22
I got this one and the Zaku Hello Kitty kit for my son and daughter! Great vid! Did you end up painting it? Would love to see how it came out. Thanks!
Happy for you my dude. Also, if the Gundam Universe was real and you had a pilot skills, would you join the Fed's or Zeon's?
Holy shit why the hell did I have to get through 80% of this video before you just explain how to apply the transfers. Just awful lol
Hrm UA-cam deleted my comment for no reason. Try #2! Are there any new nippers that might change the results of this comparison?
Here's the reason I don't like Dry Rubs. Depending on the surface that you're attempting to apply the sticker to, it can become difficult to get proper alignment, let alone ensure taped in such a way that doesn't have the sticker move (this has happened several times on my ver. Ka Sinanju and this destroyed the decal; hence I bought water slide replacements in an attempt to correct this). Sometimes you have to press down on top of the decal because there is literally no other surface to apply pressure to when trying to tape, again causing problems where the decal is ruined. I've also had it where sometimes in order to apply one decal, I have to apply tape over the surface where another decal has been placed and that causes issues that basically destroy the decal. I agree that the Dry Rubs, when applied and applied correctly look great; however there are scenarios where doing water slides are just easier and going to save you a lot of frustration (that's not say the Water Slides don't have their own problems).
Should use a black or dark green plastic for these tests cause stress marks show up a lot more and easier for us to see with extra contrast
I wasn't satisfied with my barbatos rex marker paint job so decided to remove the paint. Only tiny mistake I made was using industrial thinner. When I was swirling the parts around with a stick, I was wondering why the plastic bits felt so soft.......oh they were melting....
I've built over 30 kits and I really don't have a problem with foil stickers as long as you do them right. I thought those ones were waterslides so good to know they're dry rubs.
Great review and excellent job on the kit. Picking this one up for sure so I can have all three.
I had no idea it was actually that simple. This helped a lot, thank you! Now I just have to dig up all the dry transfer sheets I put away because I had no idea how to put them on...
These are the WORST type of fucking decals. I'd much rather use water slide.
Bro when you coming back , we need GU
What would you recommend for acrylic paint how much thinner?
Couldbe made this half as long. Way too fucking long
What happened to you? Where'd you go?
Here in Canada they have been selling for $5.60 a unit at dollorama . They have been a pleasant budget set and they are accessible. Win win especially for people like me that will not pay more than $20 for a single unit
Great video, got my first Gundam for graduation, it was a master grade so I was a little overwhelmed
what water decal do you use?
I should of watched this before because I did a mistake with the rx-78-2 gundam and no other explained it but you helped me very much
I bought a set of glass fingernail files, all the same grit but small, medium, and large size. I use them when filing the tabs off of Photo Etch; they work extremely well for this. I also use them to for finish sanding on plastic attachments points and in areas of excess plastic. Once again, the glass files work extremely well. I only paid $6.95 on Amazon for this set. I don't see the benefit of paying more ($20-40) for a name brand. I've had these files for 2 years now and clean then with water and a toothbrush if needed. Most of the time, a toothbrush works just fine to remove the dust buildup. Thanks for the video! Great info! Eric
잘 보고 갑니다~❤
Thanks bro! Looking forward to it :)
Gonna put this to the test on my first MG this week
Hello sir how to know if the decals is water transfer decals or rub transfer decals or ordinary stickers
great question my friend. water slides normally come on a light blue or blue background. dry transfers come on a transparent sheet with a "baking sheet' type paper behind it. Dry dry transfers are pretty rare though now a days with modern kits. shame really. you may still run into them with older kits.
I have old version of f91 master grade sir, is it dry transfer decals or water slide, I want to put the stickers sir but I'm afraid I don't what is that,
Thank you sir
too bad dry rub are rarely added to kits
agreed they were actually really nice once u figured out how to use them
this is where most of us get into gundam, im surprised they dont make revive rev of this
def here in the west for sure. i think they are slowly coming out with new HG wing kits
Only things that I think they should have done is include one of the beam rifles that replace the standard gun in the later points of the series, and include a foil sticker to put behind the eye...I've upgraded mine with a piece from another kit. I keep hoping to find one of the Virgo resin kits to use with one... There's also the NPD Leo that's a dark grey with alternate parts but the color looks good and includes the base despite most of the extras looking kind of wrong for a Leo. Then there's 3 P Bandai kits. Flight type, Space type, and a full weapons set. Space is purple, Flight is a blue/grey, and full weapons is the basic green. For painting, one color that's originally from one of the manga covers and has popped up in several games is a white color scheme that seems like it would be an easy repaint.
one day i will hopefully get my hands on some of those p bandai kits
Thanks for this video man, concise and informative ! Now, I've a MG sandrock waiting for me lol
Glad I could help!
4:55 start of dry transfer guide
I just built my first MG and I tried to apply dry rub stickers as water slide ones.... That explains why they kept tearing.... Thanks for the video :)
Wait I thought it was model reference for painting, these are actually stickers ? What have I done
